Harmonograph (A Visual Guide to the Mathematics of Music)

Harmonograph is an instrument which demonstrates the visual representation of the consonance and the dissonance between the intervals of different musical scales and wherever you can apply the tuned or distuned ratios to see the traces of thier movements and vibrations, With the experiment I have been doin with this harmonograph is to tune this to the harmonies of our solar system in the way our planets orbits around the sun, Most of these ratios has been explained and given by johannes keppler who indeed worked on a musical scale too from his understanding of astronomy and the fact that most of the musical scales through out the world follows the idea of having tuned n consonant ratios(sum might have a slight dissonant tones too) within an octave, which perhaps makes it sound smoother on our ear, So this instrument shows the consonance and the dissonance between the intervals visually. For further Information on Harmonographs I would recommend the book 'Harmonograph' by Anthony Ashton
